Jim (and other interested persons)

Thank you for your question. Since my posting here I have collected some other interesting Ruddell information.

My American patriot on the DAR application is one of 8 children of John Ruddell and Mary Cook of Botetourt, VA. Thier firstborn son was Cornelius Ruddell, who was born around 1716. He married a woman named Ingabo. I have a good deal more information on his siblings. The only other thing I know about Cornelius is that he died in Apr of 1798.

There are a few Ruddell families that descend from these lines that reuse the same family names. This makes things confusing if you don't have exact dates and or parents or children to identify. Cornelius and Ingabo should not be as much of a problem, though, as George and Elizabeth or John and Elizabeth. I'm sure you can find the three generations you are missing to link Cornelius and Ingabo to your Cornelius Ruddell. Please let me know what you find.

Happy hunting,
