I'm Jim Landers--working on Texas Ruddell/Ruddle line. My ggrandfather was John Ruddell b 1815 La, Came to Texas abt 1835, served in the Texas Army July 20 1836-Oct 20 1836. Received land grants, settled in Sabine Co Tx, Had Isaac N(ewton) Ruddell, who served in Civil war. Think John Ruddell died about 1862/3 (missing from tax rolls and tax paid by wife Elizabeth). Isaac died 7 Jan 1889 in Falls Co Tx and wife L.F. (b 26May1840 in Montgomery Co Ga) died Oct 15, 1909 in Timpson, Shelby Co Tx in home of daughter Mrs.__Elliot; letters were written by J.W. Ruddell son who was also in Timpson.
Problem is---I've found another Ruddle, b Va about 1804 who also served in Texas army in 1836, received land grants and lived in Polk co Tx in 1850. Lost him after that.
And--Archibald Ruddle arrived Texas 1824, received land grants, died before Dec 1839.
And then today found an Isaac Ruddell who came in 1835.
Can you help tie this together? If it's not obvious, I'm an amateur at this.
