I would like to help you, but I need a little more information.
What proof to you have that Nancy Rucker married James Richard Smith? I looked at the Amherst Co. marriage records and couldn't find it.
Seeing that she was born ca 1826 (1960 census), her first marriage would have been about 1845 + or -.
Do you have the 1850 census for her? I cannot find it on Ancestry.com for her or Thomas C. Blanks.
I'm assuming that there is a marriage bond for Nancy and Thomas, 19 Aug 1850 in Amherst. I have Rucker marriages from Amherst, but she would have been Nancy Smith.
Did Nancy have any children by her first husband? I would also like the names of Thomas's children by his first.
The 1970 census said they lived in the Elon dist. That is where my Rucker ancestors lived.
How do you descend from Nancy and Thomas Blanks?
