RUCH at Griesbach and Gumbrechtshoffen
RUCH Philipp Georg (signs "Georg"), born abt 1766; married LAEMMER Magdalena, born 20 March 1765 at Gumbrechtshoffen. He was shepherd at Griesbach in the 1790s, disappears from the records after 1800. He is reported to be living with his wife at Gumbrechtshoffen in 1818.
Children known to me:
1. RUCH Jean Georges, tailleur d'habit, born 17 May 1794 at Griesbach, died there 21 April 1850. Married, 1st, MANNWEILER Salome (at least 4 children), 2nd PFEIFFER Marguerite (no issue known to me).
2. RUCH Madeleine, born 5 May 1796 at Griesbach. Perhaps the same who was married, by 1819, to DONNENWIRTH Georges, charron, but no marriage record for them at Griesbach.
3. RUCH Marguerite, born 23 Dec 1797 at Griesbach (called Marguerite Elisabeth in 1818 birth record of her illegitimate child at Griesbach, which also identifies her parents and gives their residence as Gumbrechtshoffen).
Is this man the same as RUCH Georg Philipp, born 21 Nov 1766 at Griesbach, son of Georg Philipp RUCH, shepherd, and Anna Maria GROSS? I have not located his marriage record, and though I have not yet examined the civil records from Gumbrechtshoffen, a friend who has seen them tells me his marriage and death are not in them. The burials for Griesbach are missing from 1752-1777 and I don't know if the child born 1766 survived to adulthood.
