Absolutely. I have tried just about all of them. The best free one is put out by the LDS site. You can find it there, if you need help let me know. Its "PAF" or "Personal Ancestral File". It is quick and easy to use on your computer, opens up your GED if you alsready have one very well, and creates, or exports your edits into the same or a new GED fast and dirty. You can easily close the file you're working on, and open your friend's GED they just sent you. It creates a set of web pages too. The only things I wanted was to be able to open up two or more instances of the program with seperate databases to compare them, and you have to open and close one at a time. Oh well, its free, and I feel my data is safe with it. Another is Brother's keeper, but Its really hard to close one file and open another without combinging other geds to the one you already have and I don't recommend it. Use PAF until you find someting you like better. You'll breath a sigh of releif, I think.
