Make sure you are exporting the GEDCOM file with the "GEDCOM Character Set" set to Windows or MS-DOS. One or the other should work. The Macintosh end-of-line character is different. I am constantly having problems bringing in other GED files from the PC platform to Mac. I use a program called BBEdit to convert the file from PC to Mac style end-of-lines. BBEdit Lite is available free from http://web.barebones.com. A text editor with similar features on the Windows side is called TextPad. It will allow you to resave Mac files to PC file format and vice-versa.

Hope this helped.
