My information on Charles A. Rozar born about 1813 is that he didn't move to Dodge County, but he lived in that region from his birth. He was the son of John Rozar, Sr. and his wife, Mariann ?. John was born 1760-1770, probably in Halifax Co NC. Some claim he was a son of Shadrack Rozar, but I have never found any satisfactory documentation of this claim. John Rozar is likely the man who served in a militia unit from Robeson Co NC during the latter stages of the Revolutionary War. John & Mariann's eldest known child was Olive, born about 1790 when John lived in Fayette District, Robeson Co NC. By the mid-1790s, he moved to Georgia, apparently settling in either Burke or Washington Counties. He lived in the portion of those counties that became Jefferson County in 1796. John Rozar lived in Jefferson between 1796 and about 1806, when he apparently left for Wilkinson County. It appears he had already settled in the region that became Pulaski when it was created from Laurens County on 13 Dec 1808. John & Mariann Rozar lived the remainder of their lives in Pulaski. John died between 1825 and 1830, and Mariann died sometime after 1830. John Rozar's will proves that Charles A. Rozar was his son. Charles married Susan Tripp on 17 Dec 1833 and Sarah J. Lister on 13 Jan 18xx, both in Pulaski County. Charles apparently lived in the portion of Pulaski that became Dodge County in 1870. I am very interested in any information on Charles A. Rozar, including when he died, where he was buried, and who his children were. Thanks. Notify Administrator about this message?
