I read with great interest your posting on the genforum Royston forum.
I corresponded with Grandison D. Royston, Jr. abt. 1992/1992 at which
time he was about 82 or 83 and lived at Rt. 3 Box 174, Hope, Arkansas.
He sent me quite a bit of information, and we shared lines. I have
many, many ROYSTON names and lines. My paternal great great grandmother
was Talitha (a/k/a Tabitha) Fuller Royston who married Elias Bishop. I
have done a vast amount of research on the Royston line of Baltimore and
am familiar with the line of Grandison Royston as provided to me by
Grandison Royston, Jr.

According to information he sent, Grandison Delaney Royston was the son
of Joshua Royston of Baltimore and Elizabeth Strother Watson of Virginia
and was born December 9, 1809, in Carter County, Tennessee. So, I think that Joshua his father must have been born at least 16-20 years earlier. A printed article (a copy of which he sent me) stated that the father of
Grandison Joshua Royston came from Maryland; other information he sent
from his research had notes on it which indicated that he had ruled out
Joshua Royston of Baltimore, and that he thought that Grandison
Royston's father may have come from Virginia. I have several Joshua
Roystons in my Baltimore lines, and have been also working on whether
the lines of Grandison might cross with my Royston line of Baltimore MD.

Please email me if I can help you further. I'd love to have more
information on you lines and will gladly share any information I have.

Jim in Florida
