So far, I have not had much luck tracing the parents of Peter Royse. There was a Samuel Royse living in Butler County, OH at the time. However, he is supposed to have married a Martha Nichol 3 Feb 1829 and they are supposed to have had a sons born in 1830 and 1840, so it is hard to tell who is who in the 1830 and 1840 Census listing.

The parents of Mary Angeline Goody, wife of Peter Royse, were Evan L. Goody and Julia F. Myers. I have traced her ancestry a few generations back.

A couple of interesting tidbits:
* The second wife of Peter Royse was an older sister of the wife of his son Charles.
* The Royses and Melroys lived near the Earps in Red Rock, Marion County, IA.

I would be glad to share information.
