Samuel H. Royse, 2nd Lieutenant, Co. A, 7th Kentucky Cavalry, was killed 25 August, 1862 at Big Hill, Kentucky. I have a Samuel Royse married to Roberta and appearing in the 1860 Fleming County, Kentucky, census. In 1870, Roberta Rice of the appropriate age and with children of the appropriate age is entered in the Bath County Census. With three of the children, she appears again in Bath County, Kentucky, in 1880 but this time as Roberta Reise. I am searching for evidence that this Roberta and children are the family of the Samuel Royse who the Union Army soldier who was killed at Big Hill. I would appreciate any information to help establish this. For this family I have only census records and Samuel’s military record which I am happy to share. Thank you. Great-great-granddaughter Margaret Iverson
