Hello Joan, how are you? Great to hear from you. I haven't yet 'placed' you as another cousin has more info on the Forsman line than I do. That is OK though as I am getting there. You raised an interesting point, I seem to see an awful lot of Roycrofts as coming from Ireland but my Mum and the others in the family always said that they were Scots through and through. We concluded that Robert Swanton was born in Ireland because that was were his father was stationed. Mum also said that it was because of the service that was done there that the family could wear the 'Black Watch' Tartan. Possibly it went back even further than that time. The unit would have been stationed there by the English obviously.
I had not known of the name Swanton before coming to this site, indeed, I had not known his Father's name either but the rest fell into place.
I look forward to intergrating your info. and yes, I would love to receive a copy of your GEDCOM file. I received one from Glennis and it will be interesting to see the overlap.
Have a great day, Sharon
