My mother's maiden name was Sylvia Roycroft, her father was William (Bill) Roycroft, married Isobella Graham. We go back to Roycrofts of Waihi (my mother born there). My mothers grandmother was Eliza married James Roycroft who died after being run over by a bakers van in Waihi which he tried to stop (runaway horse). Eliza remarried (I think Charlie) brave man as she was pregnant with 12th child when James died. Robert Roycroft was (I think) my gr/gr/grandfather - Mum said he came to Howick with the 'Fencibles' and was originally a drummerboy in the Battle of Waterloo - only one of 2 B of W veterans who settled in NZ - buried at Waihi. I have some family geneaolgy here but a lot was taken by a family member when Mum died & I do not have access to it. E-mail me back if this is of any interest to you - I will dig around a bit & see what records I have if these details gel.
