As pointed out above Joseph Marie Roy is located in Point Coupee in 1771 where he married Catherine Gueho, January 29, 1771. Although we have no record of her death I will assume, Catherine Gueho died sometime between 1771 and 1776. The details of this marriage are very sketchy. Catherine was born to Pierre Gueho of France and Marie Anne Poche of Des Allemands, Louisiana also known as the German Coast ("Des Allemands" means "of the Germans" in French). Catherine and Joseph had one child from their union her name was Francoise Roy, born at Point Coupee, on October 08, 1771. Her baptismal record it states Pierre Gueho & Francoise Gueho her brother and her half-sister were her sponsors.
Joseph Marie later marries Julie (Bizet) Bizette on June 22, 1776. One problem we encounter is the child of Joseph Marie and Catherine Gueho, Francoise Roy. In the family of Joseph Marie and Julie Bizette we do not see Francoise listed? In fact after her birth record we do not see her again until her marriage to Andre Bourgeois on June 25, 1799, at age 27 in, Donalsonville, Louisiana. It is possible that she was raised by the Gueho family, although that cannot be confirmed.
