I am 13 generations down from Nicolas LeRoy. My line was done years ago by one of my female cousins who married a Mormon. With the new internet enabled researrch, I am checking out the accuracy of what they came up with. It may be that I will have to go consult the same records I started to a couple years ago in Ottawa in order to go back farther than 1852 - but live there now, so it's not much trouble. Can the DNA tell us alot without genetic material from an exhumed body that is somewhat proven to be Nicolas? It seems to me it can tell us alot about our relationship with a lot of other folks whose DNA is available, which would be only living peolple who are interested enough to seek and pay for testing and disseminate results. Through a lot of sleuthing I imagine that a lot of conclusions can be drawn, but I guess my interest is in finding a real story leading back to one man who came here with my last name, and his background before that. I am still thinking through where we can get to with the DNA testing. I read something the other day that just now there are or very soon will be relatively inexpensive testing kits available that will allow the technology to be used significantly more than the present costs allow. Salut, Richard Notify Administrator about this message?
