Hi Jack,
Thanks for the information! Here is my delima. I think that there is a generation missing in the accepted genealogy. I think that Ralph the son of Lodwich died by 1663 (he being the one in my previous post)and that his son (the Grandson of Lodowich) is the one who married Margaret (?Gaines) and died in 1716 leaving children Ralph, Benjamin, John, Margaret, Martha, ELizabeth, Mary, Edward and Sarah Fenwick. It doesn't seem logical to me that a man born in 1627 had at the age of 90, 4 daughters who were unmarried and one of them ...Margaret marrying John Nance in 1720, 93 years after her father was born. I think someone has confused the 2 Ralphs.
Does anyone have a record of the marriage of Ralph who d 1716 marrying Margaret Gaines? Daniel Gaines mentions only 3 children in his will. Bernard and Mary are under age (1681, another reason for thinking that he would not have had a daughter who married a man born in 1627--that was probably when Daniel Gaines was born) and Margaret seems to have already gotten a share. However Daniel mentions:
Grandson John Smyth, Grandson-in-law John Smyth and sons-in-law John Smyth and Ralph Rouzey. Does anyone have information about the Smyths?
Again thanks for your post....I appreciate any imput I can get!!
Mandy
