Enos Carter

Hello;

I've been working on Enos and Mary (Rowsey) Carter of Casey Co., KY and Marion Co., IA. Enos and Mary were married 9 Aug 1837 in Mercer County, KY and lived mostly in Casey County.

In 1864 (After Jordan Rowsey had passed away in Sept of 1863) Enos took his family to Perry Township of Marion County, Iowa. Two children, Sarah and John, were with them.
Sarah Isabel married the Rev. Amandra Francis Hughes and they had one son. John Leonard married Mary Ann Hughes and had five children. (Brother and sister from Ohio)

Enos was born 10 Dec 1811, Adair (now Russell) Co., KY and died 2 April 1885. In the state cenus, Enos was still living but Mary had already passed away between 1880 and 1885 because she was listed in the 1880 U.S. Census of Marion County. Both are buried in the Pleasant Hill cemetry located in Percy, Iowa, which as of 1969, are under Red Rock Lake.

What I need to know is, Enos's son George married and raised a family in Boyle County, KY. Sarah and John raised a families in Iowa. That is three of a possible nine children. I would like to find the others.

Take care;

JR

PS I'm still looking for the second wife of Jordan Rowsey. It ain't Elizabeth Coffman or Nancy Curry.
