I am trying to find the parents of my g-g-grandmother Lucy Rowlett who married Josiah Roberts. She was born 3/4/1812 and died 5/27/1882, buried in Dundas, VA (Lunenburg County). Lucy and Josiah were married in Chesterfield Co., VA in 1830. In researching at the Chesterfield County courthouse several months ago, according to the marriage records, Lucy's father was John Rowlett. However, I don't know which John. The marriage record did not list her mother's name.
In the limited research I've been able to do, John could possibly be the son of Peter Rowlett and Sarah Lister, and if so, then John's wife was Rhoda Keen.
OR, John could have married Lucy Patram (m. 5/19/1806). I figure John's birth date to be possibly around the late 1780's, since his daughter was born 1812. But I dont' know about other children, or if Lucy was the oldest or one of the younger children, so his birth date could be even earlier.
Any help anyone could give me on Lucy's father John and his parentage would be greatly appreciated. Been stuck for quite a while. Thanks!
