I am looking for descendants of Bridget Rowland. She was born in County Mayo, Ireland approximately 1803. Emigrated to Canada, New York, and then Iowa. Arrived in Iowa in 1958. Was accompanied by five children--Michael (1838); Patrick (1841); John (1843); Anthony (1845)and Mary (1847). The first name of her first husband is unknown. He is believed to have died on the ship from Ireland. Bridget's maiden name is unknown.
At some point, Bridget married Michael McCarty or McCarthy.
They lived most of their lives in Iowa in or near Ottumwa (Wapello County), Iowa. Michael died in 1880 and Bridget in 1881.
I am related to Bridget through her third son, John.
