I have Rowlands in Vermont and CT too: Nancy Jane Rowland was born in Rush County, Indiana on 14 February 1824, and died in Sweetwater (or Sweetser), Grant County, Indiana on 15 Jan 1871. Her father was Rueben Rowland, b. 1797 , Corinth Orange County, Vermont. His father, Richard Rowland b. 1771 in Lyme, New London, CT; his father: Richard Rowland, b. 1737 Lyme also. I can fill this in and go back further if this is the family you are looking for.

I have been trying to hook up this line of Rowlands with the ones in Fairfield, CT, but have been unable to find the linking ancestor. Do your Rowlands fit into my family?
