I Have this writen in Green B.'s notes: "noTE: [2151999.ged] !Land Grant: Bond Book N, page 125; Survey Book A, page 81 # 202/3. Also book 'History of Perry Co., TN, page 145. !Name was spelled RHoden in 1850 Perry Co., TN census, and it was spelled ROden in Maury Co., TN. On land grant it was spelled Rawden, also that was how his son Levi spelled, but his daughter spelled hers as Roden. !Civil War: Three of his sons fought for the Confederacy and three of his sons fought for the Union. (3 each side). And this under Greenbury: " NOTE: [2151999.ged] !Recieved his mane and his father from A.L. Roden Jr. of Pampas Texas. He wrote a book on the Rowdens "1066 Rawden 1590 To Present Roughton - Rawdon - Roden." He listed different spellings of the name: 1066 - England - Rawden 1066 - 1590 - Rawden, Roden, Rodden, Roughton. 1590 - 1705 - Roughton, Wroughton, Rodin. 1705 - 1805 - Roden, Rodin, Rodden, Roadin. 1805 - Present - Roadin, Roaden, Rhoden, Rawden, Rawdon, Roden, Rowden. His spouse could be Widow Abigail Hill. This under Levi, which is my husbands gg-grandfather: " NOTE: [2151999.ged] !Census 1870 Perry Co., TN. !Military: Civil War, 6 th Wheeler's Calavry 'I' Co. Enlisted 9 July 186? Awol 15 May 1863 according to Muster Roll. He and two of his brothers fought for the South, while 3 of his brothers fought for the North. I hope this helps some.
