You know how you read something, read it again, then again, then all of a sudden, you see what it is saying? That happened to me this weekend.
I was reading an article from the Jackson, Missouri, Review newspaper, dated 27 Feb. 1847 about a petition for partition of Mary Mansker's slaves, filed by John Sweazea and Casper Shett.
In the body of the article, it mentions the heirs of Lewis Mansker, deceased. They were Jacob and Sarah Mansker, and my great great grandma, Fanny C. Mansker. Fanny at least, is under the guardianship of a Jacob Row. They are in the area of Cape Gireadeau (sp) Missouri. We only know Fanny as Caroline. The C stood for Carline, which we think is either of mis-spelling or mis-understanding of Caroline, but that is a reason for this posting, trying to see if anyone who has Jacob in their family, might have some information on the Mansker kids, since he was guardian for at least one of them.
Any help appreciated.
