I recently discovered that a Margaret Lynum, a mullato girl, was born 1754 to a Rose Lynum on Peter Routt's place in Overwharton Parish. Rose Lynum had two other mulatto children. Joseph Lynum born 1748 and Francis "Frank" Lynum born 1751.
I'm not certain if Rose Lynum born say 1728 was white, indentured, mulatto or what.
I also discovered there was a John Lynum and his son James Lynum living in Overwharton Parish around the time of Margaret Lynum's birth. But only Rose was listed as a parent. John Lynum was listed as father to James Lynum.
Does anyone have records to Peter Routt's business dealings, tax lists, etc?
