Byramb Routt and William R. Routt - Connections?

I have found some most excellent information on Byramb Routt (b. Fleming County, KY, in 1798) and his sons John W. (1838-1899, d. Illinois) and James J. Routt (1845-1925, d. Illinois) in "The Descendants of Peter Routt . . .":

In 1879, John W. and James J. were living in Mason County in Illinois and were in business (wagon-making) together.

William R. (Reuben) Routt was the founder of Routt College in Morgan County, Illinois. His father, Harvey Routt, came from Woodford County, KY, in 1834.

Does anyone know of a connection between the two Routt lines in KY or elsewhere?

Many thanks--
