Sharron,
I was browsing through the Routh page today and your post
caught my attention. My grandfather (Ocie Cernell Ruth) is
descended from John Routh/Ruth born 1805/TN, who married
a Sarah Benton.John's father was Isaac Routh. The story
gets muddled at this point.It is believed by Ross Rouththat Issac had an older brother by the name of Jacob.However, there are quite a few years between these brothers and some believe that Isaac is Jacob's son.However, another twist...there is another Isaac with a different birthyear that is attributed to Jacob.Anyways, there is a hugh debate was to who Jacob and Isaac's father is. Is is believed that it is one of the four sons of Lawrence Routh II. One camp says, Zacheus Routh and others say Lawrence III, etc.
Your post mentioned Zachues Routh as the bondsman--then
John and Sarah.Do you mean that Zacheus was the bondsman
for John and Sarah or for your relatives?Do you have anymore information as to who this Zachues was?I would love to compare more information with you.My geneaology is packed away at the moment (from a recent move)and my memory is rusty but I would gladly dig it out.
Oh, John's family (and several of his brother's) migrate
to Missouri in the mid-1800.I don't know if I can help
with your family but if you would like to compare notes
let me know.
