Rouille/Rouillier from St. Michel Archange, Quebec area, mid-1800s
I just wanted to post this info in the hopes that someone related to my part of the Rouille/Rouillier line will recognize something.
My Great grandmother was Marie Rouille. She was born on Dec. 25, 1845 in St. Edouard, Napierville and died Jan. 10, 1880 and was buried in St. Michel Archange. She was the daughter of Gregoire Rouille and Marie Riel. Their other children include:
1) Gregoire, b. Apr. 26, 1844 in St. Edouard, and married Celina Poissant Feb. 20, 1871 in St. Philippe, Laprairie.
2) Zoe, b. May 06, 1848 in St. Edouard, and married Joseph Thuotte (also Thuot) January 31, 1871 in St. Michel Archange, Napierville.
3) Eulalie, b. May 25, 1850 in St. Edouard, and married Charles Babeu (also Baboux) October 20, 1868 in St. Michel Archange.
4) Alphonsine, b. June 19, 1852 in St. Edouard, married David Lemieux on January 20, 1879 in St. Michel Archange. Married for 2nd time to Louis Robert February 25, 1884 in St. Michel Archange.
5) Joseph, b. March 16, 1855 in either St. Edouard or St. Michel Archange.
6) Jean-Baptiste, b. June 24, 1856 in St. Michel Archange.
7) Octave, b. March 24, 1859 in St. Michel Archange and married Victorine Lefebrve in about 1887, possibly in St. Remi de la Salle, Napierville. Octave is listed as living in Colchester (Winooski village), Vermont in 1910.
8) Marie-Celina Rouille, b. June 27, 1861 in St. Michel Archange.
9) Hermine, b. February 04, 1864 in St. Michel Archange, and married Ovide Bombardier on September 12, 1881 in St. Michel Archange.
While their names were clearly "Rouille" at the time of their births, several of the children's names show up in later records spelled "Rouillier" or even "Roulier".
I have some additional information for some of their children if anyone thinks they may be related.
Looking forward to hearing from anyone who may have a tie to this family line. Thanks!
