Re: ROUGHTON in England

I am trying to trace my father's ancestory. His section of the ROUGHTON family moved to Saltburn-by-sea, in Cleveland, England with the Railway and they appear in the 1851 census. I know they originated in March in Cambridgshire prior to their move North and would very much like to trace his, and my ancestory. My father is now 87 years old, but unfortunately his mother died when he was six and family contact with relatives left in Cambridgeshire were lost. His grandfather's name was Joshia, and father's name was William. His mother's name was Lilian (nee Simpson). I have posted information on the United Kingdom site but unfortunately have had no response. The name/spelling 'Roughton' is very rare in the North of England but I know that there are several 'Roughton's' in the South of England located in close proximity, which suggests possible relationships. Any ideas?

Cheers and Best wishes from the UK

Jane
