I don't know if we are talking about the same Lawrence Rougeou, probably not if he spelled it with an 'a' rather than an'o'. My Grandmother was a Rougeou and she had a baby brother by the name of Lawrence. Please understand that almost all Rougeous, if not all, in that part of the country were descendents of Pierre Rojot. Some changed the spelling to 'Rougeou' and some to 'Rougeau' . The Lawrence I am referring to had as parents Simeon C. ( Caliste? ) Rougeou and Mary Josephine Stanley. They lived in Alexandria, ( within a stones throw of Monroe ) but some dispersed to other areas. My Grandmother's brother Lawrence, when I met him was married I believe for the second time and living in Houston, where he died and to the best of my knowledge is buried. These may not be the same person, but if you think there is any connection, let me know.
