J.T. Rougeou is my Wife's great grandfather. We have the family Bible and his handwritten note testifying that he married Katie L. WALKER 18 January 1899, Milford, Rapides Parish, LA. They had 12 childred, Ethel Olivia, Gurtrude, Bessie, Mattie, Maud (Johnnie), Mary Jane, Archie, Virginia Bell, Joseph Henry, James W., Claudia, and a son who died in infancy. Oral Family "tradition" has J.T.'s mother, or father, or both coming from France directly to the US. I've found Rougeous in Rapides and the surrounding parishes, but can't make a connection. Who are J.T.'s and Katie's familes. Do you know?
