Katherine Guggert, nee Mueller, our beloved sister was born December 5, 1835, in Betterich, Switzerland.
In 1856 she was joined in matrimony to Christian Roth and of this union were born 9 children, two of which died in infancy. Her husband, Christian, precedered her in death in 1874.
Our sister then married a second time, this time to John Guggert. He also preceded her in death.
In 1881, our sister and her family migrated from Switzerland to the USA and settled in California, Missouri. It was here that she accepted Christ as her Saviour and was baptized into the faith (Baptist) by Rev. Emil Otto.
During the past 13 years she resided in Anamoose, North Dakota, where she retained her membership in the local church to the time of her death.
Our beloved sister loved her Lord dearly and served Him faithfully and in every way possible for her throughout her lifetime. The Lord in turn strengthened her at all times and more especially so in the last two years of her lifetime as she struggled with the painful and very difficult times in her battle with cancer. He rewarded her by calling her home to her eternal reward on November 12, 1913, when she had reached the age of almost 78 years.
She leaves to mourn a beloved sister, seven children, three step children, thirty four grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren plus many other relatives and a host of friends who mourn her demise but anticipate a reunion in that heavenly home she now occupies.
The scripture passage of John 13, verse 2, was used for the funeral service.

This Katherine was my great grandfather's mother-in-law. Her daughter Katherine married Ernst Gerber in 1904. I would like to know the names of the children of Katherine sr. Who were the children of Christian Roth and Katherine Mueller who came to America? From the obit I assume her second husband John Guggert, must have been a widower with children, because of the mention of 3 step-children. I wonder if John Guggert married her in Missouri, or married her (and died) in Switzerland?
