Looking for further information about Joseph Rost (born 14 Dec 1836 in either Baden-Baden or simply Baden, Died 24 Jun 1883 in Brooklyn, New York) who shows up in the 1860 Census in the 16th Ward 2nd District of Brooklyn (further research may reveal that this is the Williamsburg section which would comform to family tradition.) Joseph married Bridget Hackett and they had at least one son, Philip Francis, and almost certainly other children. There are many other Rosts living in the 16 and 17 Wards in 1860 and 1870. Are these related to him? His children? His siblings or parents?
