Your family are kin to my branch of Rossignols.They came from France to the Caribbean,where they were large plantation owners,growing cash crops of sugar,coffee,and indigo.Then the horrors,terror of the slave uprising drove them bach to Europe,Eastern Shores of USA.and New Orleans. The historical library there could really give you tons of info.
