Dear Brooks:
In researching my family history, I saw a name on estate administration papers housed in the Chatham County, Georgia
Courthouse, 1852. That name was John Montmollin. In searching through the book, "Marriages of Chatham County, Georgia, Volume 12, 1748-1852", Compiled by the Genealogical Committee of Georgia Historical Society, Savannah, Georgia, 1993, Page 163, I came across the marriage of a John S. Montmollin to Miss Harriett M. Rossisnoll, 20 Jan 1841. In the same book, there are notations of marriages of the following members of the Rossignal Family: Miss Caroline Elizabeth Jacqueline, Page 174; James L., Pages 80 & 180. Also, the listings of: Rossignol deBelleanse, James, Page 87; Miss Marie Magdeleine Henrietta, Page 86. Also, the listings of: Rossignal deGrandmont, Jacques Philipe, Page 86 and Rossignol LaChicotte, Pierre Henry, Page 87. I do not know if John Montmollin is a part of my families; but I am researching his family to see if there is a connection. The estate administration in which I located his name is a possible family member and the administration papers included a known family member. I hope that some of the above information may be of help to you. If you feel that Georgia is an important state to study in your family history, you may wish to look at the website of the Georgia Historical Society, Whitaker Street, Savannah, Georgia. They publish some very good genealogical books, and some of them I believe are listed in their website. Good luck.
Sincerely,
Carole H. Melson.
