Rosser Family Genealogy Forum

I am a historian researching a woman named Amelia Rosser who was active in the American Irish republican movement in the 1910s and 1920s. She lived in Washington, D.C., which is where she participated in theatrical stunts as part of her political protests. In her work, she claimed that she was the great-grandniece of Gen. Thomas L. Rosser. I am hoping that someone in this forum might be able to help me learn if this was true or not.
Amelia (sometimes Aileen) Rosser was born around 1895 in Washington, D.C. Her father, Leonard T. Rosser was born in Virginia in approximately 1868. Her mother, Mary, claimed to have been born in Ireland and at other times in Virginia, around 1868. I believe that Leonard's father was Oliver M. Rosser (born around 1845 in Pennsylvania). This man, if Amelia's claim was true, would have been the brother of Thomas L. Rosser. I, however, have tracked down Thomas L. Rosser's family from Virginia to Texas in 1850, and there does not appear to be an Oliver in this family, headed by John and Martha Rosser.
If anyone can tell me if John and Martha Rosser had a son named Oliver, or, if not, anything about Oliver Rosser's actual parentage, I would greatly appreciate it.
