I'm trying to do a little research on my husband's family -- and not having much to go on. His grandfather was named Albert Mark Smith, was born in Alabama, and married Katherine Rosser of Virginia. he family story is that Katherine Rosser was only 16 at the time of her marriage. Their first child was born in 1902, Albert Mark Smith, Jr, and they also had a daughter, Mildred. Albert Sr, served in World War I, unknown capacity at this time. Mildred married someone with an Irish surname and moved to Chicago. She is reputed to have had a lot of children. Albert Mark Smith Jr married Jessie Patton Biggs, graduated West Point in 1930, and they had three children, of which my husband is one. If this rings a bell with anyone, please get in touch!
