Thanks Judy, Richard and Catherine are my great grandparents. Here are the obituary notices from the Corowa Free Press (Corowa is a border town of Victoria and NSW downstream from Albury NSW): Mr Richard W Rosser Before midnight on Wednesday last another pioneer resident on the person of “Richard Walter Rosser” (crossed the bart) at the age of 87. He was of a strong robust nature and it was only recently that he gradually failed owing to declining years. A native of “Swansea” South Wales, he came to the colonies a young man in 1853. In the roaring days of the gold fields in Victoria and found employment with Mr WM Hay at “Pine Lodge” Victoria and with him sixty years ago came over to Collendina, where until late years he has followed the occupation of farmer and contractor. He leaves a widow and grown up family of eight sons and four daughters, all well known in the Corowa district to mourn the lass of a kind and indulgent parent. The remains were interred in the Corowa Old Cemetery on Thursday 10th March, the service at the graveside being conducted by the Rev. Ross Edwards. Mortuary arrangements were in the hands of Mr W Squires. Mrs Catherine Rosser The death occurred on Tuesday last at the residence of her daughter (Mrs Dall), 10 Stead Street, South Melbourne, of Mrs Catherine Charlotte Rosser, aged 79 years relict of the late Richard Walters Rosser, o f Corowa. Deceased was a native of Long Wood Victoria, there she married her late husband. She came to Corowa district about 60 years ago, and resided here until a short time ago. Being of a kind and lovable disposition, she made many friends whose sympathy will go out to her grown-up family of six sons and two daughters, who are left to mourn their loss. The sons are Messrs. David (Hay), James (Seymour), John (Corowa), Edward (Norong), Grif (Balldale) and Henry (Lake Cargelligo) and the daughters Mesdames Dall (Melbourne) and Schmidt (Menton). The remains were brought to Wahgunyah by train on Wednesday afternoon, whence the funeral cortege proceeded to the Corowa cemetery. A large number of friends followed the remains to their last resting place. The service at the graveside was conducted by the Rev. Father O’Reilly, Funeral arrangements were carried out by Mr W. Squires. I had been looking for their parents. Any other information about Richard and Catherine or their parents and family would be appreciated. Thanks again Brenda
