Rossel in Brooklyn, NY
Help!
My G-Grandfather, James F. Rossel, lived in Brooklyn, NY around 1900.He was married to Annie Lood, and had three children - James Jr., Mary, and my grandfather, Charles.
My problem is this... while I have the 1910 census information for them (they were both 36 in 1910), I cannot find a birth record in the NYC archives or any way to trace back further from there. My other conundrum is nationality - while G-Grandma Lood was full-blooded Irish, the 1910 census lists G-Grandpa Rossel's parents as both born in France, while the 1930 census lists his father from France, mother from Irish Free State.
Does anyone out there happen to have any info on these folks?I'm /so/ close to tracking my lineage on this side of the family to outside the U.S. (back to Ireland / France), and this brick wall I seem to have run into is driving me batty.
Thanks in advance,
Robert C. Rossel
