By possibly is your William (Billy) Ross (aka Billy Roux) born in 1839 in Florida, or a William B. Ross (1808-1852)?
I have been told that our Ross Clan came to America, via Ireland, but orginated from the Scots Hunter Ross Clan.
My gr-gr-gr-grandfather was Francis J. Ross (1785-1850, born in the Carolina), but I haven't been able to trace any father back than that. (his son was William B. and his grandson was Billy Roux).
Supposedly there were three brothers who all went to different states (from Virginia?): One went to Tennesse, one to the Carolinas and perhaps the other stayed in Virginia. Mine is the Carolinas to Florida line. Have been trying to back-track, but can't find anything. Do you think we connect?
You may answer either through this forum or contact me directly at: babbs@gvtc.com. Thank you.
