Alexander Ross, Fort Ticonderoga, July 1777

Does anyone have any information on Alexander Ross, listed as a Matross in the Stevens' Corps of Artillery, Continental Troops (Revolutionary War)?

The Muster roll lists him at the Garrison at Ticonderoga March, 1777. The remarks on the next page say "Taken prisoner July 7".

So he must've been one of the ~234 or so men taken prisoner by the British (Simon Fraser) at the Battle of Hubbardton, on July 7, 1777.

Any descendants of this Alexander Ross or anyone with any historical knowledge of the Battles around Saratoga please chime in thank you!
