I have traced the ROSS-surnamed descendants of the progenitor William ROSS (1797-1865) and Martha ALLEN (1805-1885) down to one (Charles) Allen ROSS who was born in Alsey, Scott County, IL about October 1908.
He is my current candidate for the Last Known Ross to descend from the progenitor William, who may be related to my own ROSS family, also of Scott County.
Charles, who sometimes used his middle name Allen, was the son of Charles W. ROSS (1862-1932) and Mattie GEORGE (1880-1960). They had one other child Leta M. (ROSS) JOHNSON (1899-1970).
I don't know if (Charles) Allen ever married or had children. I would love to hear from anyone else researching this line. Please write to me at TombTome@aol.com
