Can anyone post a copy of the will of Isaac ROSS of Jefferson County, MS (or send me an e-mail copy) - according to my notes, the will was witnessed on Aug 26, 1834 by Peter C. Chambliss who owned land adjoining the Ross plantation in Jefferson Co, MS. (That will caused much consternation among citizens of MS when it was filed for probate - resulting in years of litigation in the courts and several attempts to pass 'applicable laws' in the MS legislature.) Who were the other witnesses of the will? Who were the five men designated to as executors of the will and who, if any, accepted this assignment? When was the will filed for probate? When was the estate 'settled'? Also, what lands did Isaac Ross own in MS at the time of his death? I'd like to know more about the interactions between P. C. Chambliss and the Ross family. Were there any 'marriage connections'? etc? Were there any land sale/purchase transactions between the two men (or other closely related family members)? etc?
