Looking for Ross family members who come from a line of Ross that settled early in Saratoga Co NY in and around the Galway, Milton and Ballston area. I have a Charles Ross b. abt 1795. He lived in Galway Twp as of a land record recorded in 1818. He later moved to the Putnam/Bureau Co IL area by 1840. His had five proven children, but maybe more. They are Margaret, Mary Ann, Sarah Ann, Jane, and Mariah/Maria. Margaret married Richard King, Mary Ann married William Gibson, Mariah married John Yearnshaw, Sarah Ann married William Noble Moseley and Jane never married. All of the girls but Jane were born in New York. Jane, the youngest was born in Upper Canada abt 1834/36. The first name of Charles wife was Elizabeth. She was also b. NY abt 1797. Margaret who appears to be the oldest child was b. abt 1818. All of the girls in later census listed NY as both the birthplace for their mother and father. Charles died between 1840 and 1842. I'm trying to link Charles to one of the many Ross lines that were in Saratoga Co NY.
