Looking for descendants of Augusta D. (Rosengren) & Marcus Lafayette "Mark" Langford [1836-?]. Mark's younger brother, William Ainsworth "Bill" Langford [1841-1895] is an ancestor of my sons. Wm. A. Langford named his oldest son Marcus Lafayette Langford, Sr. [1870-1938] after his brother. This younger Mark Langford is also an ancestor of my sons. Mark & Wm. A. Langford were born in Lincoln Co., NC. After their father's death in NC abt. 1850, the Langford boys moved to Tn. with their other siblings & their widowed mother, Charlotte (Collier) Langford, & her brothers. Mark & Wm. A. Langford both migrated from Wayne Co., Tn. to the Austin area in Tx. in the late 1860s. Mark prob. migrated in 1866 or 1867, as he married Augusta D. Rosengren in Travis Co., Tx. on 10/22/1867. Although she was born in Tx., her parents were both Swedish immigrants. Augusta & Mark Langford were listed in the 1870 Census of Travis Co., Tx. Their next-door neighbors were Augusta's parents, Headdy & John Rosengrun. Augusta & Mark Langford were also listed in the 1880 Census of San Saba Co., Tx. William A. Langford apparently followed his older brother to Tx., as he migrated from Wayne Co., Tn. to Williamson Co., Tx. in 1869, where he married the widow Christina C. (Johnson) Munson on 8/29/1869 in Georgetown. Like his brother, Wm. A. Langford married a woman of Swedish descent. Christina C. (Johnson) Munson had migrated to Tx. from Sweden, as did her 1st husband Andrew Munson [Anders Monson]. Christina & Wm. A. Langford were listed in both the 1870 and 1880 Census in Georgetown, Williamson Co., Tx. Johnson had 6 children by her 1st husband, Andrew Munson, & 5 children by her 2nd husband, Wm. A. Langford. Wm. A. Langford & his brother, Dr. James Monroe Langford, were Union veterans of the Civil War, while their younger brother, Josephus Langford, was a Confederate veteran. I don't know if Mark Langford was a Civil War veteran or not. Would love to hear from anyone with information to share on Augusta D. (Rosengren) & Mark Langford of Tx. Until recently, I thought that Mark had remained in Tenn. with the rest of the Langford family. Specifically, I would like to know when & where he & his wife died, where they were buried, his wife's birthdate, & his Civil War service outfit [Union or Confederate?].
