Hi -- When I saw your name I was hoping it was the "Danny Blye" of Blye's jewelers in Winchester VA-- but he said he thought it had to be his cousin -- you. Soooo I am trying
to establish WHO exactly Godfrey Baumgartner/Bumgartner,Bumgarner is. I have LOTS of info on the line - back to 1200's -- but once Godfrey/Gottfreid comes to America I have problems. "I" have Godfrey(1719) marrying Anna Maria in Germany, coming to America on the "Fane" in 1749. No record of what happens to Anna Maria and their children, presumed died on ship. Then Godfrey marries Anna Catarina Kueffer in 1750, Lebanon, PA.
Their son, Joh. Jacob Bumgarner born Nov. 1751. THEN--Godfrey joins the war and (deserts Anna and Joh. Jacob) moves south for land. Anna Catarina marries Erasmus Rosenberger (1756) and 1760 John Frederick is born. Meanwhile-- Godrey Bumgarner marries "Gertrude". (and has another Jacob + more children) My line (I think) is thru Jacob - but which one???? And another person has another Godfrey? - but with some of the same children's names. Other sites: Augusta Co., Rockingham Co., Pendleton Co., Harrison Co., Wood Co.,VA/WV and Wirt Co,VA/WV If you have any info please contact me brobinso@shentel.net
