Hi, this is the problem, I am so stuck w/my Rosen's right now, anything is possible.
This I do know. My grandfather Samuel Jacob Rosen, definatly had a mother named Mary/Mariam. Her maiden name could have been Harlofsky. Sam had 2 sisters Ann and Jennie and definatly a brother David. Supposedly he had a brother Phillip, but I find no reference to him so far.
Sam came to the US via Philly Penn in 1906. Whether or not this is the first time he came, I am not sure. He married a woman in Philly named Sarah Brown. They had 2 children in Philly (Michael aka Albert) and Pauline aka Pearl. They moved to NYC sometime after 1910 (as I found them in the Philly census in 1910) Theyhad 2 other children Milton and Anna. Sarah died in 1922, and Sam married my grandmother in 1923. At some point, Sam went back to Russia to bring his mother, and siblings to the US. Again, not sure when. My best guess would be early to mid 1900's. I know Ann married a man named Harold Nurock a Shoemaker in NYC. Jennie married a man named Joe Schwartz a furrior in NYC. I also know my grandfather Sam lived in London. I am not sure if he was a British Citizen or not.
Does your family come from NYC at all? If you think there still might be a connection or a posible connection, please feel free to email me at

Thank you
