Connection between Roses of Massachusetts and North Carolina
I ran across this sentence from the following source:John Stetson Barry, A historical sketch of the town of Hanover, Mass., with family genealogies (Google eBook) G. Drake, 1853,p. 26,
"Thomas Rose, a descendant of Thomas, who was in the "Two mile" in 1660, seems to have lived near where Edwin Rose now resides, on Hanover Street; and Edward Brisco lived in the same neighborhood, the plain on which his house stood being known on old records as Brisco's Plain. If I am not mistaken, he moved to North Carolina over a hundred years ago."
That would have been the mid 1700s, about the time Thomas Rose showed up in southern VA or northern NC.
Does anyone know of the veracity of this statement?
Thanks,Harry Eugene Rose
