Deed records of Fairfield Co., SC, conclusively identify the father of William A. Rose as being Thomas Rose of Fairfield, rather than the Amos Rose who married Mourning Evans (as per the standard family history). A descendant of William A. Rose provided the DNA sample that proves Thomas Rose was a Y-DNA match for William1 Rose of Surry Co., VA.

Thomas Rose will be Thomas6 Rose (William5, William4, Richard3, William2, William1). --Carl
