My mother used to put flowers on the graves of the Roscoes in Camden Ny as she said they were relatives of gr grandpas but I dont see how they decend from Daniel Ward Roscoe which has German blood and from Nova scotia to New York( as I understand,) But My roscoes is definetely french canadian.?????? hmmmmmmmm. any Ideas ?????? Connie Oh ps ,, I read that Donat was Daniel in French ANd Moise + Marie
Can anyone Add Or correct this info?
UP date On this is I'm now looking at the possibility of my Roscoe Being Metis . We have a handed down rumor that we had a Bishop in our Racicot line and A Racicot ancester worked with A famous historical fellow I think Samuel Champlain also we supposedly are related to Mickey Rooney"s sister I think . Oh and theres mention of family doing Logging,Navel Careers and butchers ... I think boucherville might be involved as a clue ..
So far on all the oral history handed down to me , It has proven correct on my other surnames As I am doing this reseach. So IT might pan out
If anyone thinks they connect Please feel free to contact me
I have A photo that must be unmistakably A Roscoe/Racicot.I feel safe to assume that since it was in the Corner of a picture of Louis and Ellen Mary AND that its at least a generation older than Louis Then it must be Daniel Louis"s father
other Surnames associated with the Roscoe/ Racicot Wives ancesters are
Dumas , Blanchard, Hebert, Comeo,
Reil Ect.Thet were from Malone Burke Fort covington After immigrating To Canada Then around 1920 they seemed to follow a migration Out of the region . the scattered throughout the borders of New Hamshire. Vermont. Conneticut Ny . There main church was Malone's Notre Dame. And are buried there also buried at St Georges Althou the online cemetery record has no transcription. I met a Cousin who knows there phsyically there.
Ok I'm stopping !!! I apologize for a book,........Thanks ! Connie
