C.W. Bogart: note FDR said that he [FDR] did not know where our immigrant ancestor CLAES MARTENSZEN came from-- BUT, he does not stipulate that he did not know where our Roosevelts came from in HOLLAND and he [FDR] does stipulate that the family tradition of the HYDE PARK ROOSEVELTS is that the Roosevelts came from somewhere near HAARLEM, NORTH HOLLAND [recorded in writing per the 1938 Virginia Pearce Delgado interview with FDR FDR Library PPF 73]. This is THE ORIGINAL-genealogical knowledge we Roosevelts had about ourseleves from the time arrived in New Amsterdam thru to cousin FDR's said statement. Then from about 1920 thru to the present we table THE ORIGINAL ignoring it with our new cradle now being Oud-Vossemeeer, Tholen, Zeeland, in the south of HOLLAND. A location that the family genealogist, himself an assideous student of genealogy and a repository of family genealogy, cousin President Franklin Roosevelt repudiated as being "thought up by someone to attract tourists off the beaten track". This whole Oud-Vossemeer, Tholen, Zeeland-business is contrary to THE ORIGINAL-genealogical knowledge possessed by the HYDE PARK BRANCH of we ROOSEVELTS and is contrary to what cousin President Franklin Roosevelt said about where our Roosevelt-"family" came from which is near HAARLEM, NORTH HOLLAND. Respectfully, Gregory Thompson, a ROOSEVELT-descendant, my 7th-great grandmother is ANNA MARGARIET ROOSEVELT m. Heyman Aldertse Roosa my 7th-great grandfather, she is the daughter of our said immigrant ancestor CLAES MARTENSZEN van ROSENVELT/ ROSENFELT. Notify Administrator about this message?
