I am researching a branch of my family that moved to northeastern Iowa about 1860. The family of Abraham Rosa was in Iowa in the 1850 census. He and his wife and children were all born in New York. I am wondering where he might have come from. Some of my family members intermarried with the Rosas. 1850 census, Garnaville, Clayton Co., IA “Rosey,” Abraham P., age 45, farmer Reachel, age 45 Peter, age 19 Catharine M., age 18 Hiram, age 16 Jane H., age 14 David, age 13 Theodore, age 12 John, age 10 Samuel, age 8 Albert, age 6 Subsequently, the family is always Rosa, and is in Winneshiek County. Does anyone have an idea about the origins of this family? Gretchen Notify Administrator about this message?
