It is documented that John Suyland Roosa was a child of Andries and Elizabeth Roosa, born in Marbletown, Ulster County, NY. No one seems to have anything further about him.
I believe he may have been the John S. Roosa, born about 1812 in NY who migrated to Tioga County, PA between 1844 and 1846. He married Julia Smith. One of their children was John Calvin Roosa, born September 1844, died 1922, veteran of the American Civil War. John Calvin married Lydia Gaige.
Both father and son eventually lived in Chemung County, New York. John S. Roosa died there in 1872.
